NEXT YLD MEETING:
Wednesday, May 22, 5:30PM
Location: Union Public House, 4340 N. Campbell Ave, #103
The Pima County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is a group of attorneys who have
been in practice less than 5 years and/or are under the age of 36. By joining the Pima County Bar
Association you are automatically a member of the YLD -- and at no additional cost.
In addition to membership in the Young Lawyers Division, PCBA membership affords opportunities for
networking, professional growth and a myriad of community service programs in which you can
participate.
Although the PCBA YLD is a division of the Pima County Bar Association, it is governed by its own
Board of Directors. The Board meets at 5:30 PM each month, except June, July and August. ALL
YOUNG LAWYERS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE MONTHLY YLD BOARD MEETINGS. For
more information, please call any of the board members. Flyers with information about upcoming YLD
Board meetings are emailed to ALL young lawyers on the YLD listserve.
YLD Lunch CLEs
CLE programs developed with the new lawyer in mind.
YLD CLE Programs are typically scheduled on the third Thursday of each month, except June, July
and August and December, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. The YLD CLE programs are FREE to PCBA
young lawyer members, law students, and those awaiting bar results; $15 for PCBA non-YLD
members and $30 for non-PCBA members. For more information, or to suggest a program, please
call the YLD CLE Coordinator, Corey Larson at (520) 202-7814.
Program announcement and registration flyers are emailed to all young lawyers on the YLD listserve.
[If you're not on the YLD listserve and would like to be, please call the PCBA office at 623-8258.]

Community Projects
Guardianship Program
Thru the Beacon Foundation, families with developmentally disabled adult children can receive
crucial aid. The PCBA YLD recruits volunteers and trains them to represent the Petitioners through
the guardianship process.
Since 1991, PCBA YLD has sponsored this program at local elementary schools. Attorney/tutors
meet with 4th and 5th grade students in a one-on-one setting for one hour a week.
Annual Judicial Reception
Each year, when the Arizona Supreme Court has oral arguments in Tucson, the YLD hosts a judicial
reception honoring our judiciary and giving new lawyers an opportunity to get to meet our local judges,
federal judges and Supreme Court justices. Young Lawyers, Judges and sponsors are invited to attend.
YLD Travel
The PCBA Young Lawyers Division affords travel opportunities for YLD members to attend various
ABA meetings including the Annual Meeting, Regional Conferences and Workshops. This not only
gives our new lawyers an opportunity to network, but a look at what's going on in other local
Associations.
