HOURS OF OPERATION:   9AM to 4:30PM
Monday - Friday (excluding holidays)

Legal problems can be confusing when you do not know where to turn for help.  The Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) program can help you find a private attorney who has experience with your particular type of legal problem.

We have a panel of experienced attorneys in many areas of law (see LIST OF LEGAL AREAS).  Each LRS attorney must be a member of the State Bar of Arizona (the licensing authority for lawyers), and must be experienced in the area of law for which s/he receives referrals.

For a non-refundable fee of $35 due at the time of the referral, the Lawyer Referral Service will provide you with a licensed attorney who will provide you with a 30-minute consultation.  During this time, the attorney will offer:

  • Information and Legal Advice

  • An opinion as to whether a lawyer can be of help with your concern

  • A fee estimate for further services or representation (if necessary)

PLEASE NOTE:

» LRS is a phone service, and walk-ins cannot be accepted. Referrals are only made over the phone. To get a referral, you must call (520) 623-4625.

» The LRS Operator is not an attorney and does not provide legal advice.  There are no attorneys available at our location.

» LRS is not a free service. If you are unable to pay an attorney, please see our FAQ's page. If you do not qualify for legal aid, yet cannot afford a regular attorney's fees, please see our QUILT Program information.

Here's How It Works

1. Call LRS at 623-4625, or send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , that briefly states your question/matter and a daytime phone number and hours that you can be reached by phone.

2. The LRS Operator will talk with you by phone about the nature of your situation and help determine whether you would benefit from speaking with a private attorney in LRS. You will be provided with information about the LRS program and referrals to other community resources, if appropriate.

3. If you decide to use our service, you will be given the name, phone number and address of a private attorney who has experience with your particular type of legal problem, and who will provide a 30-minute consultation to discuss your situation. There is a non-refundable $35 fee due at the time of the referral, and two options of fee payment:

PAY BY PHONE with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express

PAY BY MAIL in advance with a check or money order sent to:

LRS, P.O. Box 2189, Tucson, AZ 85702.

Make check payable to LRS and please include your name and daytime phone number.

Upon receipt of your payment, we will contact you by phone within two business days.

4. You will need to call the attorney to schedule the 30-minute consultation when it is convenient for you to meet. It is your responsibility to make these arrangements. If there are any concerns, please contact LRS at 623-4625.

What To Expect When You Consult With The Lawyer
At the meeting, the lawyer will discuss your legal concern with you & advise you of the options for handling it. This consultation will answer your questions and may enable you to solve the legal concern yourself.

It is important that you bring all papers related to your legal problem to the meeting.  It will save you time and money.

If further legal service is needed and you choose to have the lawyer handle your legal matter, you will need to discuss the lawyer's fees during the meeting.

Fees are based on the time and type of work involved and the difficulty in handling the legal concern.  Be sure you understand what the lawyer will do and how the fee will be determined. You should ask the lawyer for a written fee agreement explaining how the fee will be determined.

* If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please notify the lawyer.
